These bold, colourful paintings depicting local Mid-Century Modernist homes celebrate 1960s and 70s design and record aspects of the architectural and cultural heritage of Caulfield and St Kilda East.

Reflecting the optimism with which these houses were conceived and built, predominantly by European émigré architects for Jewish clients, the paintings resonate familiarity by the artist’s use of a nostalgic colour palette and incorporation of original wallpapers.
